Please come home this Christmas

Model/ Photographer: Debbie Jasper

Christmas is the time to be with the ones we love.... May all our love ones come home this Christmas...

Bells will be ringing this sad sad New Years
Oh what a Christmas to have the blues
My baby's gone I have no friends
To wish me greetings once again
Cries will be singing Silent Night
Christmas carols by candlelight
Please come home for Christmas
Please come home for Christmas
If not for Christmas by New Years night
Friends and relations send salutations
Sure as the stars shine above
But this is Christmas yes Christmas my dear
The time of year to be with the ones you love
So won't you tell me you'll never more roam
Christmas and new Years will find you home
There'll be no more sorrow no grief and pain
And I'll be happy, happy once again
Oh there'll be no more sorrow, no grief and pain
And I'll be happy, Christmas once again

Manhattan Show by Model's Workshop

After weeks and months of preparation, finally THE day has arrived. It was a great success I may say and words of congratulations flew in the air after the show.

Months back, Annie Zorric said to me, " Debbie, you know that I will be organising a fashion show in November. Will you be keen to join me? Host or Model? " I was elated and speechless for a moment, then almost yelled back, " Yes! Am I able to do it?" She giggled ," Yes of course." For those who know Annie, she is one capable lady who works her day and night making sure things are perfect. Yes, she is a perfectionist! Thus, when this rare opportunity came knocking on my door, I said yes knowing that she will definately guide me along and probably excel under her guidance. I am glad I did. It was my first experience as the Host of a show and I have learnt alot along the way. Being in the organising committee, I have seen how hard everyone has worked to put this show together. Everyone, from Annie to the models, photographer and builder, has put in that extra mile taking into consideration that we were all working in a different time zone.

Our wonderful team includes:

Here is a synopsis of what were showcased during the show.

We do hope you will soon take the opportunity to visit the designers stores we showcased today.

Last but not least, my heartfelt thanks to Monica Balut, Models Workshop Founder & Owner for having the faith in us and giving all of us the opportunity to help Annie to organise this entire production. Monica is very supportive in every way and certainly a mentor to a new model like me.

Quoting her in her speech at the show.
" This was the fourth fashion show put on by Model's Workshop.  The first one was in May of 2009.  We hope to continue this type of events. The mission of Model's Workshop is to be a free resource to foster the ongoing professional development of SL fashion models. The purpose of producing shows like this has been to give people opportunities to gain experience that they would otherwise find difficult to get. Everyone in this show, from the director to the models did this on a totally voluntary basis just to get the experience.

I've been watching this show come together.  I can attest to how hard everyone worked at this.  The staff and the models put in a tremendous amount of time and dedication to do this project. So I want to congratulate everyone for the excellent job you all did here today.

I'd like to thank clothes designers Kiyla Dreamscape, Mandrake Dagger,  and Journey McLaglen, and pose designer Morgane Batistia for donating their creations in support of this show.  I hope they are happy with the results. I'd also like to thank the sim owners MokaLaTae Blinkier, Sebastian Obviate., MariaDelCarment Bekkers, BMOC and GordonGekko Haroldsen for graciously hosting Model's Wrokshop here and for their continued support."

A Picture Paints a Thousand Words

You can never be bored in SL. As a model, I have to take lots of pictures. And recently, I decided to try taking pictures in SL and started to get very interested in it. I spend hours styling and then taking snapshots and editing the pictures. Each time, when I was able to capture the essence of the pictures, I felt a sense of satisfation. I decided to take this hobby a step further and enrolled myself with MA Photography and Modelling Agency. Ashia Denimore who is the trainer is both talented and patient. I have learnt so much under her guidance and I am still learning.

What a super life when I can combine my two love, styling and photography, in a day's job. Love SL!

Wish you were here

Today, someone touched me with this song.  It was a song I have dedicated to him once, a friend whom I knew before I became a model and who has stood by me all these while, silently. As I was busy with my modeling, I have neglected him....

Wish You Were Here
Wish You Were Here...
Me, oh, my country man,
Wish You Were Here...
I Wish You Were Here...
Don't you know, the snow is getting colder,
And I miss you like hell,
And I'm feeling blue...
I've got feelings for you,
Do you still feel the same?
From the first time I laid my eyes on you,
I felt joy of living,
I saw heaven in your eyes...
In yor eyes...
Wish you were here...
Me, oh, my country man,
Wish You Were Here...
I Wish You Were Here...
Don't you know the snow is getting colder,
And I miss you like hell...
And I'm feeling blue...
I miss your laugh, I miss your smile,
I miss everything about you...
Every second's like a minute,
Every minute's like a day
When you're far away...
The snow is getting colder, baby,
I Wish You Were Here...
A battlefield of love and fear,
And I Wish You Were Here...
I've got feelings for you,
From the first time I laid my eyes on you...

SL Too Sexy Model Pageant

I am back... Well I didnt leave actually. In fact, for the past 1 month I have walked all fashion and animation stores I could find in SL getting ready for my first pageant - SL Too Sexy Model Pageant. It was harder than I thought. All the trying and mix and matching of various designer outfits, shoe, hairdo, eyes, accessories, poses, the editing of prim to make sure no part cuts into my skin, and I was constantly seeing something that was 'nicer' and might 'fit' better the too sexy theme. It was an easy and familar theme and yet difficult as I want to be different from the rest. I decided to take an Asian approach and needless to say, it was easier for me too as I am from asia.
The lingerie I wore was a sexy undergarment wore by rich women from the Ming Dynasty in China called a dudou. In English they are known as 'stomach protectors' or 'tummy covers'. Over the dudou, a translusent gold organza top with golden silk threading of a picture of a dragon and on my feet, a pair of yellow shoe with a unique dragon heels from Designer Cutea Benelli from Grim Bros.

The creative evening gown was a creation from 3 designers - Bliss Couture, House of Beningborough and PurpleMoon.  An inspiration from formal Thai national costume, known in Thai as "chut Thai phra ratcha niyom",  the gown was made of brocaded fabric, the tight bodice is enriched by the gold and teal lace embroidery and a beautiful small train at the end of the tight fitting skirt with a sensual deep slit on both sides.  In a matching tone attachment is the majestic fan piece that frame my body featuring metallic spikes in gold with some embroidery semi-transparent fabric intertwined the metal pieces. The headdress is made of pure gold with flower motif and green jade.

My favourite category - showgirl creative Talent. I did a dance to the music "Hindi Sad Diamonds' from the movie Moulin Rouge. It has an Indian dance incorporated in it and Indians are known for their sexy dance moves so it fit the theme very well.
Finally, after weeks of preparation and sleepless nights, I am happy to have won
Miss Sexy Talent and Creative and 4th runner up.

All these would not be possible without CWS giving us the opportunity to showcase what I have learnt the past 2 months with them. Thank you Anrol, Steve and all the trainers who have not given up on me. Last but not least, a friend and mentor who has gone sleepless nights to help me put everything together.... Meimei ... tyvm....

Styling Event -American Theme

It was an honor for me to judge tonight's styling event. I was both surprised and exhilarated that I was given this task which I know for now requires great responsibility and my fullest attention during the event. For once, I understand fully that being a judge is not easy as we need to be impartial and professional about the task as all contestants, like myself before, have put in lot of effort in each styling event that we particiate in.

I like to thank Anrol and Steve for giving me this opportunity and Laylah who has so patiently guided me throughout the event. Her words of encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Here are pictures of some of the contestants:

Congratulations to the winners:
1st - - Ariana Kalinakov
              2nd - - Kiralyn Destiny
                        3rd - - Chelse Shuffle
